
Scranton — Global FC’s recent annual gathering in Scranton went beyond celebrating soccer achievements, placing a strong spotlight on the role of family involvement and community leadership in shaping the future of young athletes. The event brought together players, parents, coaches, and community representatives with a shared commitment to nurturing youth through the values of sport.
Organized by Global FC and supported by the Bhutanese Community of Scranton, the gathering emphasized how soccer serves as a powerful tool for personal growth. Speakers highlighted how regular training and team participation help young players develop discipline, leadership, and confidence—skills that extend far beyond the soccer field.

A key focus of the evening was the strong presence and support of families, particularly Nepali mothers, whose encouragement was recognized as a driving force behind the players’ success. Their involvement demonstrated the importance of parental engagement in helping children stay motivated, focused, and connected to positive activities.

Community leaders were also present to inspire the next generation. Bhutan Community of Scranton President Krishna Rai And Vice President of BCS Om Timsina, along with respected community members,KB Karki,Shyam Rasaily,Heera Rasaily,Meg Raj Lagun and Former BCS President Tek Khadka shared messages of perseverance, unity, and responsibility with the young athletes. Their participation reinforced the idea that youth development is a shared effort between families, sports organizations, and the wider community.

The program concluded with a reminder about healthy lifestyles in today’s digital age. Organizers encouraged families to promote sports participation as a way to reduce excessive screen time, helping youth build stronger social bonds, healthier habits, and a more balanced future.
